The type of personal information we collect and process

Personal identifiers, contacts and characteristics (for example, name and contact details, research organisations you are associated with and your professional interests.)

How we get personal information and why we have it

Most of the personal information we process is provided to us directly by you to contact you as a supplier, customer or partner.

 

We also receive personal information indirectly, when you access information and/or connect with us via our social media accounts LinkedIn, Twitter, and Instagram and our online tools Linktree, Github and Google via services on our Google Business Profile.

 

We use the information that you have given us in order to reply to you and/or to improve our products and services.

 

We will not share this information with anyone outside Research Bees.

Under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), the lawful bases we rely on for processing this information are: 

  • performance of a contract

  • legitimate interests

  • legal obligation.

 

How we store your personal information

When we need to store your information we securely store it in the Research Bees Google Workspace (for more information, see https://cloud.google.com/security)

We keep your contact details:

  •  For 7 years following the last time we had dealings with you (e.g. 7 years after completion of a contract) . We will then remove your information from our systems. If we receive your information again after previous deletion we will store the latest information we’ve received as new.

  • For 2 years where personal information has been submitted as part of our recruitment process (normally in the form of CVs).

 

Your data protection rights

Under data protection law, you have rights including:

  • Your right of access - You have the right to ask us for copies of your personal information. 

  • Your right to rectification - You have the right to ask us to rectify personal information you think is inaccurate. You also have the right to ask us to complete information you think is incomplete. 

  • Your right to erasure - You have the right to ask us to erase your personal information in certain circumstances. 

  • Your right to restriction of processing - You have the right to ask us to restrict the processing of your personal information in certain circumstances. 

  • Your right to object to processing - You have the right to object to the processing of your personal information in certain circumstances.

  • Your right to data portability - You have the right to ask that we transfer the personal information you gave us to another organisation, or to you, in certain circumstances.

You are not required to pay any charge for exercising your rights. If you make a request, we have one month to respond to you.
